All student grades and attendance are entered in Impact Gradebook. You can access Impact Gradebook by clicking on the Impact icon on your computer's desktop.

Clicking the icon opens up a web browser that accesses the CPS Impact web page. The web page can also be accessed at by entering http://impact.cps.k12.il.us into any web browser. In order to access the Impact Gradebook or any of the Impact sites from home or away from school you need to use the CPS Virtual Private Network. You can learn more about the VPN here.

Please take your time to familiarize yourself with the different publications and tutorials found under the Gradebook Link on the left hand side. There are also videos that can be found at CPS On Demand. These videos give you a quality overview and are a great place to start your learning of Gradebook.
After clicking the link a new window will open asking for your login and password. This is the same login and password you use for any CPS site: First Class, Impact, CPS @ Work, etc. Please enter the information and click login.
After logging in you will come to your a welcome screen for your gradebook. Impact Gradebook is set up differently depending on what your role is in the school. The screen you may see as a teacher is different than what a principal or tech coordinator or attendance clerk may see. Also as a teacher you cannot see other teachers gradebooks. You may only see your students in your individual classes.

You have complete control when it comes to adding assignments and tests to your classes. We will cover the basics in this tutorial. If you want more advanced topics it is suggested that you see read the available publications from ITS as well as watch the videos available from CPS On Demand.
